Impact, change, thinking ahead - what Circular Quest triggers

How do you turn a walk through the city into an "aha" experience? And what happens when teams suddenly start to look at their everyday processes through circular glasses? The answer doesn't start in a classroom - but on the street. Or rather: on an orange QR code in Olten city center.

With Circular Quest, we have developed a learning format that takes people from companies and educational institutions out of their everyday lives - and into the reality of sustainable solutions. Since its launch in fall 2024, the course in Olten has been used by a wide variety of groups: from vocational trainees, team leaders and administrative units to production companies.

One example of this is the team event with Girsberger AG. The participants not only went through the stations on recycling, repair, closed-loop systems and local players - they then got active themselves: in an interactive workshop, they formulated ideas on how circular thinking could be applied in their own company. From dealing with waste materials to the question of new business models, there was a lot on offer.

The workshop was short, clear and gave us an understanding of the topic of the circular economy in relation to our company. I would definitely recommend the format - especially for apprentices." - Anita Schmid, Girsberger AG

What makes Circular Quest so special is not just the playful approach - but the combination of experience, reflection and entrepreneurial relevance. The format creates space for honest debate, for a change of perspective - and for understanding sustainability as something of one's own, not as an external mandate.

Circular Quest continues to grow

The project will continue to grow in 2025: in Zurich, Circular Quest will be implemented together with ABZH and will focus on energy, climate change and the role of circular solutions in the catering and hotel industry. In Dietikon, a course is being created in cooperation with BZ Limmattal - with a focus on transportation, logistics and recycling.

Both locations show how versatile the format can be adapted - locally, thematically and methodically. And interest continues to grow: we are currently in close contact with three other cities with a view to implementing new Circular Quests from 2026 - including with a sector-specific focus such as circular construction or sustainable production.

We are also constantly developing Circular Quest - with new workshop approaches, closer integration into vocational training, supplementary online modules and a growing partner network.

Experience the circular economy - instead of just hearing about it

Circular Quest gets people thinking, discussing - and above all: doing. At a time when sustainability is often talked about in abstract terms, the format creates real proximity and impact.

We welcome anyone who would like to define new stations with us, implement further quests or contribute their own ideas. Because the circular economy doesn't need perfect concepts - it needs good beginnings.
