éducation 21 theme dossier on the circular economy
With the expert support of the FOEN and sanu durabilitas, éducation21 has produced a thematic dossier on the topic of "circular economy" and provides an overview with information and practical implementation options such as Future Perfect.
The circular economy directly links ecological, social and economic issues. Holistic teaching of interdisciplinary topics such as the circular economy can sometimes prove to be very complex. For this purpose, éducation21, in cooperation with the FOEN and sanu durabilitas, has compiled a topic dossier to provide an overview of relevant topics, practical examples, extracurricular projects and learning media.
Implementation in the classroom with Future Perfect
The online teaching aid Future Perfect is also listed at the upper secondary level. Teachers can use it to train learners to become ecologically, socially and economically responsible professionals with an action-oriented teaching programme for vocational school lessons (ABU and BK). The learners acquire competences for the design of recyclable and resource-efficient products and business models.
In the first chapter of the teaching material, learners get to the bottom of the ingredients of a pizza, learn about resources, raw materials and ecological limits, and learn about the impact our food has on the environment. The chapter is concluded with a transfer to their own industry as well as a proof of competence (here: creating a sustainable menu card).
The aspects of ecology and economics are completely covered in accordance with the framework curriculum. But the aspects of technology, ethics, law and politics are also integral components of the online teaching material and are meaningfully linked in a narrative, whereby knowledge about sustainability and the circular economy is conveyed in a holistic approach. The ready-to-use learning content and additional materials enable the simple transfer of knowledge on the complex topic of the circular economy.
